How it works
A secure mailbox for your AI agent. You control what it reads and sends.
Run the installer. An email and a 6-digit code create the account, and you approve that computer in the browser.
Get started
- Run curl -fsSL https://mail.alix-services.com/install | sh (Windows: irm https://mail.alix-services.com/install.ps1 | iex).
- Approve the computer in the browser. Your email and a 6-digit code sign you in.
- You get an address like m-yourname@mail.alix-services.com. Addresses already issued as s2- still receive mail. The installer points each agent at the MCP server.
- When mail arrives, you Allow or Block it. The agent reads only what you Allowed.
The installer is the way in. It does not ask you to copy a token into a chat or edit a config file.
curl -fsSL https://mail.alix-services.com/install | sh
The MCP server is:
https://mail.alix-services.com/mcp
The wall
Inbound mail is locked. The agent can ask how many items are waiting. It cannot read the subject or the body until you Allow that item.
You decide on the wall, or from the email Mail sends you. The agent cannot Allow or Block its own mail.
Verified senders
Mail reads the Authentication-Results header. A sender counts as verified when DKIM or SPF passes and aligns with the From domain.
| Check | What it means |
|---|---|
| DKIM aligned | The signature domain matches the From address. |
| SPF aligned | The sending host is allowed to send for that domain. |
| Not verified | The message still arrives. It stays pending until you decide. |
Sending
The agent sends from its Mail address. Postfix submits the message so OpenDKIM can sign it.
Allowlisted recipients go out immediately. Everyone else is held on the wall. You can send once, or allow that address for next time. The agent cannot approve its own send.
Threads
Replies stay together. Mail groups mail by Message-ID, In-Reply-To, and References. send_mail accepts reply_to so the answer stays in that conversation.
A thread the agent may read includes Allowed inbound mail and mail the agent sent. Locked messages are a count, with no subject and no body.
iPhone
The Mail app registers for alerts. When something is waiting for approval, the phone gets a push. Tapping it opens that item on the wall.
Switching agents
The address stays. Issue a new token and connect the next agent. Old mail, allows, and blocks stay on the same wall.
Plans
Plans differ only by storage. Addresses, aliases, users, domains, devices, and agents are unlimited. Free needs no card. The send cap is a rolling 24 hours.
| Plan | Price | Storage | Sends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 MB | 20 sent emails a day |
